Chanukah and Purim
H2163, H2164, H2165, H2166
appointed time by man, an occasion

If you thought that Chanukah and Purim were among YHVH's Holy Days or Commandments
then you would be mistaken. These two observances [and others]
are each called a "Zeman" and are times appointed by Jewish men and
women; but when these "Zeman" are turned into religious observances
holidays then they are in complete defiance and indifference to YHVH's strict command not to
¶ When the LORD thy GOD shall cut off [destroy] the [unrighteous pagan]
nations from before thee, wherever thou goest to possess them [their lands], and thou succeedest
[overcome] them, and dwellest in their land;
30 Take heed [BEWARE] to thyself that thou be not snared by following them [their unrighteous
practices], after that they be destroyed from before thee [because of unrighteousness]; and
that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, "How did these nations serve their
gods? even so will I do likewise."
31 Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy GOD: for every abomination to the LORD,
which He Hates, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they
have burnt in the fire to their gods.
32 Whatsoever [thing] I command you, observe to [make sure you] do it: YOU shalt not add thereto
[to it], nor diminish [take away] from it.
"Zeman" are supposed to be small scale personal observances that have no religious
significance. Once they cross the line from personal to religious significance then they compete
with YHVH's appointed times [Holy Sabbaths] and they blind the Spiritual eyes of men and women to the
Spiritual significance [hidden mysteries] within the parallel symbolism of YHVH's "Plan of
making them of "None Effect". True priests and ministers of YHVH should
always guard against such things.
Matthew 15:8-9, 12
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and
honoureth me with [their] lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments
12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees [Priests] were
offended, after they heard this saying?
Some of you may say that Queen Esther observed Purim, and Jesus observed Chanukah [Festival
of Lights]. I
those are nothing more than the vain imaginations of the seduced mind!" All
of "The Wishful Thinking" in
the world will not change unrighteousness into righteousness! A zeman is never to
become a "National Observance" or an "Annual Temple Observance" or "Doctrine".
It is either a "Private
a "One Time" observance at
best! Furthermore, there is zero evidence that Messiah ever observed "Purim".
Let take a look at some Biblical passages that many use to try and justify their disobedience.
¶ And it was at Jerusalem [during] the feast of the dedication [H1456],
and it was winter.
23 And Yahshua walked inside the temple on Solomon's porch.
24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt?
If thou be the "Anointed One", tell us plainly [ meaning
no customary parallel messages please].
H1456: egkainia (eng-kah'-ee-nee-ah) - neuter plural of a presumed
compound from en - en 1722 and kainoV - kainos 2537; innovatives, i.e. (specially) renewal (of religious
services after the Antiochian [Roman Orthodox Christianity]
interruption):--dedication or rededication.
Later this rededication became the annual feast celebrated for eight days beginning
in the 25th of Chislev (middle of December), instituted by Judas Maccabaeus
[164 BC] in memory of "The Cleansing of the Temple" from the pollution
[The Abomination that makes Desolate] of Antiochus Epiphanes [original
name was Mithridates]. Isn't it strange that his name and title are both
very similar words to the Christian Epiphany, and to Roman Mithraism?
Think about it !
The feast [festival] was called among the Syrians denho (up-going), a name to be connected
with the notion of "Rising Light" expressed in Luke. 1:78-79.
And isn't Chanukah called "The Festival of Lights"? A coincidents?
I think not!
Quote: The name Epiphania survives
in Befana, the great fair held at that season in Rome; it is difficult to say how closely
the practice then observed of buying all sorts of earthenware images, combined with whistles,
and representing some type of Roman life, is to be connected with the rather similar custom
in vogue during the December feast of the Saturnalia [eventually called Christ-Mass].
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men.
What I really want to know is where does this passage demonstrate that Messiah was celebrating,
worshipping, feasting or acting as a participant in the dedication [rededication] of the
temple? What I see is a "Set-Apart man" observing sinners, and answering questions
that obviously do not relate to the dedication at all; in other words, performing the job
he was created to do and has done many times before, and again "In a public
place of worship",
as he frequently was. What I, also, see is Messiah being present during an original event. Beloveds,
being present during any original occurrence of any event does not make
the person or persons in attendance an observer nor does it provide their endorsement of
an "Annual Celebration".
There is no way on YHVH's green Earth that Messiah would suddenly start
mixing unrighteousness with righteousness [that is a Roman trait]. Moreover, YHVH has zero
Holy Days in the winter, as winter is symbolic of death. Messiah was there on a completely
separate mission of his own, which was always "His Ministry".
even IF he was there to participate in this "One Time" removal of "The
Season of The Roman Saturnalia" [later called Christ-mass] would that not be a
paradoxical situation, and make "The Roman Jesus" a hippocrite?
¶ Wherefore they (of the kingdom
of Ahasuerus and not Israel) called these days Purim after the name
of Pur. Therefore for all the words of this [first] letter, and [of that] which they had
seen concerning this matter, and which had come unto them,
27 The Jews (of the kingdom of Ahasuerus
and not Israel) ordained,
and took upon themselves, and upon their seed, and upon all such as joined themselves unto
them, so as it should not fail, that they (of
the kingdom of Ahasuerus and not Israel) would keep these
two days according to their writing, and according to their [appointed] time every year;
28 And [that] these days [should be] remembered and kept throughout every generation, every
family, every province(of the kingdom of Ahasuerus
and not Israel),
and every city; and [that] these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews (of
the kingdom of Ahasuerus and not Israel), nor
the memorial of them perish from their seed.
29 ¶ Then Esther the queen, the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai
the Jew, wrote with all authority, to confirm this second letter of Purim.
30 And he sent the letters unto all the Jews within the hundred
twenty and seven provinces of
the kingdom of Ahasuerus [from India to Ethiopia only],
[with] words of peace and truth,
31 To confirm these days of Purim in their times [appointed by themselves], according as
Mordecai the Jew and Esther the Queen had encouraged them, and
as they had decreed for themselves and for their [personal] seed,
the matters of the fastings and their cry.
32 And the decree of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim; and it was written
in the book (of the kingdom of Ahasuerus and not Israel).
Since when did queen Esther receive from YHVH the power and authority to establish a National
Observance or a New Holy Day or to add to "The Commandments
of YHVH" for YHVH's children? Additionally I have yet to discover that
Messiah ever observed Purim [or Chanukah for that matter]. Remember that
being there during any original occurrence certainly does not establish a precedent
for annual temple observances or doctrine.
What I do see is that the "Zeman" [H2165] was encouraged and appointed by a small
group of Jews (of the kingdom of Ahasuerus and not Israel) for
their own personal family observance with fasting, and nothing more!
In no way does this administration [TSN, TSJ, SBC and Bnei HaMashalim] endorse the observances
of any Zeman.
Blessings, DJ Love
